Wedding registry FAQs
-
What do most people register for?
Plate settings, bowls, and drinkware are the most common items people register for. Many people also include serveware, vases and planters.
-
How many place settings should I register for?
People usually register for 8-10 place settings (salad plates, dinner plates, and dessert plates). I recommend reflecting on how many people you tend to host and go from there!
-
What diameter should I choose for my plates?
I generally recommend a 10", 8", and 6" diameter for plate sets. 10” is the typical size for dinner plates, 8” diameter for salad plates, and 6” for dessert plates. I recommend looking at the dimensions of your cupboards and plates you enjoy using to help you decide.
-
What Glazes do you offer?
I find it's very helpful to look around your home at what color palette you are already drawn to in your space. Check out the glaze page to see current glaze offerings and note that not all products are offered in every glaze color/pattern. I can also make custom glaze colors upon request for an additional fee.
-
What happens in Design meetings?
We will discuss what items you would be interested in registering for, style details of those items (size, shape, glaze, etc), how many of each item you would like to register for, and general online registry layout (photo on the page, pricing/purchasing tiers, online vs. card notifications, active registry dates, etc). Often couples will send or bring in notes, links, or even create a Pinterest board of what they may be interested in registering for, especially if there are any items outside of my already offered plates/bowls/mugs or custom colors. If we meet in person I will also bring samples of items so you can see them in person. If you are outside of those noted areas I can ship samples to you, but would request them to be shipped back to me after we decide on those details.
-
How do Registry Pages work?
After our design meeting I will make a sample registry page for you to approve. Once that is approved I will make it live and send you a link that includes you and your fiance's names, which you can then pass along to your guests. You can see samples of other registries here. While I am not a registered store on Zola or the Knot, you can put the custom link I will create for you on your registry site so that guests can find all your registry items in one location. See below for instructions on how to link this to your existing Zola or the Knot registry.
-
How will I Get Notified of Registry Purchases?
You can choose to either be emailed when an item is purchased (which will include the name and contact information of that person) or guests can be mailed a blank card which they can in turn give or mail to you. When all items on your registry are purchased the registry will be closed and you will be emailed a list of contributors and their contact information. If your registry is completed early you can also add the option of gift cards for other custom items you may be interested in.
-
When should I close my registry?
Registries will have a set close date, but you can always extend it if you wish. Often couples like to extend the registry three, six, or twelve months past their wedding date to accommodate anyone using the “gifting within a year of the wedding” rule.
-
How many registries sell out?
95% of past registries have sold out!

Connecting to the knot
-
Step 1
Go to The Knot and log in
Click “Registry” at the top of the page. This will bring you to their registry overview page
-
Step 2
Scroll down until you see the section entitled “Add Anything From Anywhere.” Here you will find a button which can be dragged up to your bookmark bar called “Add to The Knot.” Drag this button up to your bookmark bar. If you can’t find the bar, The Knot recommends going to “view” in your browser’s top menu and setting your bookmarks bar to visible
-
Step 3
Once the button has been installed, visit your registry page on the Little Fire Ceramics website and click the “Add to the Knot” button on your bookmark bar. A window will pop up for you to log in to the Knot. Then you can add an item name, price, quantity, and select an image of the corresponding item. Once you save it, it’s on your Knot registry! Repeat this step for each individual item you would like to add.
